    • Hi,

      There is a known bug under Joomla 2.5.6 : One cannot send any email du to a bug in phpmailer.php

      I have corrected the phpmailer file as suggested at http://code.google.com/a/apache-extras.org/p/phpmailer/issues/detail?id=68 , however i still have the same SMTP error.

      Line 769:
      //MoonDragon $rt = @mail($to, $this->EncodeHeader($this->SecureHeader($this->Subject)), $body, $header, $params);
$rt = @mail($to, $this->EncodeHeader($this->SecureHeader($this->Subject)), $body, $header);

      Also, is it most sage to go back to Joomla 1.5?

      If so, then no. Joomla 1.5 is dead and not supported anymore.
    • Please reply with a direct link to the issue & create a new thread for each new issue.

    • If it is not supported anymore but why cannot we receive any support for Joomla 2.5 (for example I have sent this thread since 07 august 2012 and still not have received any answer).

      Fyi, i have made all the migration but : it was not possible to receive or sent any email under joomla 2.5....

    • I don't have issues with mails in Joomla 2.5.6
      Better ask your question in official Joomla forum on Joomla.org.
      Be sure to have the latest Joomla version installed.

      It seems that have made an update just this week or two weeks ago. However, I have posted a thread which still unanswered for about three (certainly Joomla Team was overloaded with the release of Joomla 3.0).

      Hopefully, I will do my migration in the next 12 months (presently too much delay).
