SOLVED Inserting a logo into a Joomla Template

Posted 12 years 3 months ago
    • Hi,
I am wanting to insert my logo into a Joomla 2.5 template. Can I insert my jpeg logo .jpg into the template?
Do I have to resize the logo to exact dimensions before I insert it into the template or does it resize automatically.
Can I just copy and paste the logo into the template?
      Thanks

    • If I knew which template you're using I would probably be of more help. But to answer your question in general. You should be easily able to replace the image file already used for the logo. Yes, you will have to adjust some of the CSS properties controlling the logo to make sure the new one fits correctly if you end up using a different sized image.

    • Hi,
It is a Voxel 2.5 Joomla template.
Can I insert my logo which is a jpeg .jpg file or do I have to use a .png fireworks format for logos?
      Thanks

    • You can use jpg/jpeg, png and gif without worries. You just have to adjust the height, width and file path in #RT-logo :)

    • rt-logo is an "id selector". The name could have been called anything, like #really-cool-awesome-website-logo for example. An id selector is a CSS rule you can read about here: www.w3schools.com/css/css_id_class.asp

    • I tried inserting my logo using Logo picker.
I firstly uploaded my logo png file to Media Manager.
Selected my logo.png and clicked on insert saved the file and viewed but the logo does not appear when I view the template.
The template is Kirigami. Would there be a reason for this.
      Cheers

    • Does the logo still appear in the Logo Picker after you've reloaded the page?

Try clearing out the cache in your browser and reloading the page.

The logo appears in the logo picker box.
However when I save and view site for some reason the logo does not appear.
I am using firefox I cleared cache and reloaded the page

    • Hi Ben,
Sorry I realised I had a space in the image name. I deleted the space and the logo now works fine. It appears in logo picker and inserts into the template and can now be viewed.
Thanks for your help problem solved.
      Cheers
