    module as menu item

Posted 12 years 1 month ago
    • Hello everyone, I am trying to set up a little website and got a problem.

      My page (J2.5): verdistis.com

I am trying to set the "K2 content" module as menu item so that only the module is shown. I set it up so it only displays one article.

I also try the same with the roksprocket module. I want it to be on the homepage alone.

Now I could just use the menu type "item" to display that one article. But I want to be able to use the Module class suffix.

Is there a way to display a module as menu item?

    • Hi there,

The only way I know of doing that is to create an article and in the content use the {loadposition yournamehere} and assign the module to position yournamehere.

If this resolves your problem then please edit your first post in this thread by adding SOLVED at the start of the title and then select the green tick icon. This lets the moderators know that it can be moved to the solved section.

      Thanks for your cooperation :)

    • I am not sure if I understood that.

I made the homepage show one single article, the article/item says "{loadposition news3}" (news3 is the name of the module)

But that did nothing though, it only shows the article as if there is no text.

    • Hi there,

      It should load the module.

Can you PM me with a temporary Super Admin access please and I will take a look to see what the cause may be. Please include the link to this post for ease of reference.

      Thanks :)

    • Is there no other way than that?

Is it possible to completely hide a normal article/item?

I tried to turn of everything that can be displayed, it still generates a blank area though, and a back to top link..

Edit: I just found this option in the theme settings:
      Display Mainbody
Turning this off stops the content component from displaying on the frontpage. Mainbody module positions are unaffected. This can be useful if you would like to build your homepage from modules only.

      But it does not work.

      Any ideas?

Edit2: I had to use some kind of shortcode to inject the module into the item "[module-116]" for my example. Only a few rok modules have that though.
But the inportant part for me is that it also keeps the mod suffix from working.

So I need to get the "Display Mainbody" option to work, It'd be so much easier.

    • Hi there,

With loadposition the second part of the call is the name of the position not the name of the module.

      With all modules you can overtype the position with any position name e.g home-mod and the use {loadposition home-mod}

      Hope this helps 8)

    • Hello, my plans have changed, your suggestion keeps the mod suffix from working.

PS: I use the clarion theme, if that helps.

    • Hi there,

Do you have a module published anywhere with a mod suffix using loadposition so I can see what is being called?

    • Did you read what I wrote?

I'd like to get the "Display Mainbody" option to work. That's an option from the theme.

Injecting only works with {module modulename} for me btw.
