Can't login - not the usual though

At first I thought it was a glitch that I wasn't remembering my password, so I opened phpmyadmin for another site (where I knew the working password), went to the users row, and copy/pasted the md5 code for my password to the problem site. Did it, and it worked.
Went to login again today to the same problem site, and again, same thing. I do the same trick again, but right after logging in, I log out again and try immediately after using what I know for certain is the password. Can't get in. No error message, just page reloads and it's not letting me in to the site.
What could this possibly be?
Can't check version (since I can't get in), but I believe it's 2.5.7 - Google Chat: ennovative (at) gmail.com

Small update - working fine in Firefox.
This is a Chrome issue apparently. Never encountered anything like this before though - curious if anyone else has. - Google Chat: ennovative (at) gmail.com
