Unable to install any rocketlauncher themes

I have a Fedora 17 OS, have setup everything needed to run joomla 2.5. I have installed the standard template and all works as expected. I then stopped httpd, removed the install, downloaded the Gantry rocketlauncher and it also works fine. But now that I have purchased a membership, I cannot get ANY template rocketlauncher install to work. I have downloaded Leiathan and Cerulean, but after a successful install, removing the installation folder, clicking on site or admin gives me an error 500.
I even tried other methods, like installing gantry, then loading only the leviathan template, still error 500.
What am I doing wrong?? are there other undocumented pre-requisites?
