I could be wrong about this but it seems like the dirty little secret of Joomla sites is that they are slow. Whether it's Joomla or how we implement the technology, we're usually not the fastest sites out there.
I often see when there are problems, the advice is to turn off cache features. So here's my question: do you as a site developer turn Joomla's caching capabilities on? What else do you do to make your site a bit more peppy?
