SOLVED Can no longer access my administrator site!

    • For months now, I've been unable to update Gantry. Every time I try, I would get redirected to a blank page (and nothing was loading). I'd click "back" and refresh and it would tell me that Gantry still needed an update. The same was happening with 2 other extensions: a Rok extension (possibly RokSprocket, but I'm not 100% sure), and a 3rd party extension called Smart Countdown.

Today, while looking through my extensions while trying to solve an unrelated problem, I saw 3 disabled "Installer" plugins...one for each of the extensions I've been unable to update. I selected each and clicked "enable", hoping that this would finally update these 3 extensions. Instead, it completely borked the whole system. I now get a blank page when I visit the site ( toppokervalue.com/test ) or the admin. page ( toppokervalue.com/test/administrator ).

I seem to remember something similar happening in the past, and I need to go into a file via cPanel, but I can't remember which one, or where it's located. Your help would be much appreciated!

    • Dan,

I actually have a separate Joomla install on a subfolder (/test). I can access the admin section for my regular site just fine - it's the /test site that I scewed up.

I did try accessing my admin login via toppokervalue.com/test/administrator/?template=atomic , but no luck.

Okay Plan B. Start your PhPMyAdmin console and goto #_template_styles, where # = your DB prefix, and set the default template to Atomic for J25 or Protostar for J30 and then try accessing.

    • Ok, here's what I did:

Changed protostar client_id to 1, and the old admin (I think it was isis) to 0. Cleared my cache and reloaded the page, and got the same blank document.

It's also worth noting that the front end ( toppokervalue.com/test ) also loads a blank document.

Got a plan C? (or did I incorrectly follow plan B?)

    • Plan C
Would you please create a Super Admin login for me and PM it to me, along with FTP access info so that I can take a look.

    • Dan,

you'll have to be more specific with what you need. Since I cannot get into the admin section, I'm not sure how I would go about giving you Super Admin access.

EDIT: I've figured out how to create a new SuperAdmin account, but I don't think that will help since it would only let you log into the admin section, which I'm currently unable to do.

      Your good to go.

It was the installer-plugin entries in your DB that killed your Front and Back ends.
I've also installed for you Akeeba backup and made your 1st site backup.
      Do I need say more (nudge-nudge | wink-wink) ?

    • Thanks Dan!

I've marked the thread as [SOLVED]. I've also downloaded Akeeba for my live site also and performed a backup!

Now I can post a new thread to try to solve the problem I was initially trying to fix when I screwed everything up!
