Joomla, RocketTheme & CentOS VPS Hosting?

Posted 11 years 8 months ago
    • Hi All,

I am going to move a few of my sites from shared hosting to a VPS running CentOS 6, cPanel and I wondered if any of you have any experience of having a similar hosting setup via a VPS with CentOS 6?

If so, what's it like as I'm told Joomla will run on it no problem, as with my current shared hosting but having looked in to CentOS, I'd need to install LAMP server first, isn't this not disimilar to WAMP and the like that one would run on a local machine, but instead it runs on your live linux hosting server?

Apologies for maybe sounding thick but I'm used to the way of doing things for the past couple of years and this is kind of a new learning curve and a step in to the unknown.

I am told by my hosting company that even with the basic VPS package, it will still be an increase on my joomla sites performance compared to the current with being on shared hosting at present, would any of you agree?

I look forward to hearing from some of you soon.

      Regards,

Usually the webhost will set that up for you.

      Yes.
