Looking for some insight into Joomla 3.2 creating new menu items and getting a 500 error with Windows Server 2008 r2
When I set the open_basedir to NONE it will create the menu item. Not sure if I like this or not as a security issue.
Has anyone experienced this?

Since your on windows how do you have error_log configured?
To write to windows event logs or to file or both?
Need to see what error is being thrown on the 500 message when this happens. That error might be related to how the dirs are setup on your setup...maybe a odd subdomain setup? - Magento - phpBB3 - Kunena - RokBridge Specialist
