    • I am having problem with TinyMCE, it removed some of my codes for embedded video after I saved the article. I did what was mentioned here...but it won't stop the strip off. I also tried switching to NO EDITOR mode, but after saved, part of the codes still went missing.

Here are the video codes which I like to embed ( showing in few formats )
      <object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=9,0,0,0" width="540" height="349" id="FLVPlayer" align="top"><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always" /><param name="bgcolor" value="#000000" /><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /><param name="movie" value="http://www.freeegg.com/flash/player/channelPlayer.swf?id=123747&channelID=starbox&skinNum=6" /><param name="quality" value="high" /><param name="bgcolor" value="#ffffff" /><embed src="http://www.freeegg.com/flash/player/channelPlayer.swf?id=123747&channelID=starbox&skinNum=6" quality="high" bgcolor="#000000" width="605" height="385" name="FLVPlayer" align="top" allowScriptAccess="always" allowFullScreen="true" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" /></object>

      or
      <embed src="http://www.freeegg.com/flash/player/channelPlayer.swf?id=123747&channelID=starbox&skinNum=6" quality="high" bgcolor="#000000" width="550" height="355" name="FLVPlayer" align="top" allowScriptAccess="always" allowFullScreen="true" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" />

or is there other ways to do it? The video links are
      www.freeegg.com/flash/player/channelPlay...ID=starbox&skinNum=6
      or
      channel.freeegg.com/starbox/123747?skinNum=6

      Please advise.

      Thanks a lot!

    • Hi Paul,

That works! Although I still have to switch to NO EDITOR mode... but as long as it works I am happy!

      Thanks a lot!

NOTE: Ok, I feel like a real idiot for not finding this out sooner, but that's partly because I never use a WYSIWYG and therefore have not really played with it much.

We traditionally tell people to turn OFF their WYSIWYG editor when editing custom scripts, or typography or whatever because these editors strip out extra css classes, javascript etc. Well, I just discovered that with TinyMCE at least you can disable this 'feature'. Just go to Mambots -> Site Mambots in your joomla administrator, then click on the "TinyMCE WYSIWYG Editor" link. In the properties, set the "Code Cleanup" radio button to "Off".

Voila, you can now just switch to the HTML mode in the editor, add any classes you need, and they wont be stripped out like they usually are.

      Joomla 1.5:

Go to Extensions > Plugin Manager and select TinyMCE2.0

On the right for the "Code Clean-up on Save" select "Never"

      See image below

thanks fot the tip, I am using joomla 1.5 and I can not get any pics to rotator anyway:

      - I have turned off wisiwig editor and it does not work
      - I turned onTinyMCE2.0 editor, set up the configuration you mentioned and it does not work as well

this code <!--IMAGE images/stories/lego/rotator-3.jpg IMAGE--> is always removed after saving

do you have any tips? thanks in advance..

    • But being an external editor, would I lose the ability to use RocketTheme typography?

A rokcandy toolbar for dreamweaver would be useful :)

    • Editor issue?
I have posted this issue in the correct board but no answers, need help. You may be on to something here.

      joomla 1.5.17
      juxta template
      http://polymedibase.com

Using JCE editor but have turned editor off made entries with no wyiswyg editor. Makes no difference. Please see link below, Use IE8 as Firefox & Chrome or old IE6 work fine. Select any link in the modules for software or CD or Notebook and you will see they do not work in IE8 only. But add a 2nd link below the 1st and the 2nd works, or enter<p></p> above the 1st link and the 1st link works then, but you have a space issue.

Here is the code from Firebug

    • Hello,

I know this is an older thread, but it is on the newbie list to review. Does the RokPad editor in the newer templates fix the problems that the older editors had?
