I have spent a most for my weekend reading all the posts on the internet on this this topic, but can't get logged in to the admin side of the site. No matter what credentials are used, all I get is the same login page again. No error messages appearing anywhere.

I am at a loss and I really do not want to build the site from scratch.
I have also posed to the Joomlia Fourm but nobody had an anwser just told me to search the fourm for an anwser
What I've done so far -- nothing has worked for me
- I've changed the Super User Password in Gy3r8_users
- I've made sure user_joomla is enabled in Gy3r8_extensions
- I've reset admin = 21232f297a57a5a743894a0e4a801fc3
- In configuration.php I have:
--- $cookie_path = '';
--- $lifetime = '60';
---$cachetime = '15';
I have also noticed that when I change the password name it does not reflect in the configed file
Can anyone give me any more ideas what I need to do to fix this
