I want to protect my images at the Roksprocket Header-Slideshow, so that it is not possible to save the pictures from the slideshow for other people. For example a transparent gif over the picture. Is there a possibility perhaps with CSS.
You would be wasting your time. It's easy to circumvent any image protection methods that you might employ. My advice is don't bother trying.

These kinds of plugins will do what you are asking for, however you'll find you'll annoy a lot of people who use right-click a lot to open things in new tabs, and as MrT says, nothing you do will stop someone who really wants to grab an image.
All I have to do is view the source code and load that image url in a new window and I can then download it, even if it is protected.
CMYKreative - thanks for your input... the OP is a Joomla member but yes there are equivalents of those Wordpress widgets as Joomla extensions too. But, they're all a complete waste of time as they're all easily circumvented.

Yes, all of these plugins, no matter what platform, are easily got around with only some basic knowledge and ultimately end up frustrating users I think so a waste of time.
If it's important to the op to protect their images, perhaps this might be a solution or perhaps simply watermarking them is enough:
Yep, watermarking is a better solution but then you have to be prepared to invest in paying a company to find where you images have been used, or you have to do the searching yourself. Unless you are a professional photographer I still don't think it's worth the effort. Even then, it's still easy to remove watermarks (visible or encoded).
