Topaz template security questions

  • Topaz template security questions

    • I'm planning on using Topaz template for a new website, but previous website I built with older templates were attacked and I was not able to save the sites. My question is how can we secure our site with the maximum amount of security? Would that include not have someone contact form? I'm not sure how they get into the sites, but I want to not have a simple access point.

      Thanks for your time,
      Chris

    • To secure your site use a good security product such as Akeeba Admin Tools Pro (my preference) or RSFirewall.

Make sure that you use long passwords (I use 30 character plus passwords and a password manager 1password to remember them) and non-guessable usernames (i.e. don't use "admin"). Make sure you enable the htpasswd feature of the security product so that you have double-login protection to admin area (server password and joomla password logins). Make sure that you use a secret key (feature of the security products) so that you can just type yourdomain/administrator to get to your admin login screen.

Those security products will still allow people to use your contact forms.

      Regards, Mark.
