Hi... I guess there is a simple solution to this... but the usual output when I try to install a module is as follows:
* JFTP::mkdir: Bad response
* JFTP::mkdir: Bad response
* JFTP::mkdir: Bad response
* JFTP::mkdir: Bad response
* JFTP::mkdir: Bad response
* JFTP::mkdir: Bad response
* JFTP::mkdir: Bad response
* JFTP::mkdir: Bad response
* JFTP::write: Bad response
* Unable to write entry
I have installed the Rocket Launcher version of HiveMind, and when logging in with a ftp client, it seems the permission setting for whole directory structure is set to 755. Isn't this correct?
I have found this error situation described several other places, but no solution... is this a problem with Joomla 1.5? Does anyone have the same problem here?
Well, I haven't ASKED... but I can see several other have done so, and no single answer is given. Setting 777 on the whole catalog structure before installing the extension is one of them, changing $path to reflect the full domain name is another... and a few more things I have tried with no luck. I thought I would ask here, even though it is a Joomla or ISP/PHP problem, because the feedback is always of high quality
After having searched joomla.org I think I will have to modify my first utterance - it could be there is no simple solution to this...
I have tried to install several times, have tried the available install methods (upload from joomla, upload by ftp, have made the directory structure and set permission 777 before I have tried to install)....
I have no problems locally, but at my ISP I can't install any extensions. The ISP is recommended at joomla.org for runnning Joomla. Not sure where to go from here actually. I haven't tried to install Joomla 1.0 yet but...
Did a fresh install (removed everything) and did not select the FTP layer when installing - and now it seems to work... I guess next time I will try some functionality before I start to tweak anything...
