mainmenu disappeared in Admin

When accessing Admin > menu > mainmenu I get a blank screen that displays nothing. This happened after adding several items to mainmenu.
error_log:
PHP Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 8388608 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 32 bytes) in /var/www/html/TS/includes/domit/xml_domit_lite_parser.php on line 926, referer: http://ts/administrator/index2.php
Found the fix on another site. Increase php.ini memory limit from 8mb to 16mb.
