    • I have a burning question. I'm using Joomla 1.5 and have setup my site built around the HiveMind template. I'm using a MAC. All is well except that I am unable to install any extensions, components, etc. The various apps are automatically unzipped upon download. I've "re-zipped" via DropStuff and then tried to install but always receive the following error message:

      * JFTP::mkdir: Bad response
      * JFTP::chmod: Bad response
      * JFTP::store: Bad response
      * Warning! - Failed to move file

      Can someone help me with this please? Thanks!

    • That is generally a permission problem but if you are working local, that shouldn't be an issue - maybe ask at forum.joomla.org

      Am I correct in assuming you are using MAMP?

    • MAMP is a piece of software letting you run a local-server environment. (localhost)

      I appreciate your comments. I am not working local. My site is being hosted with HostGator. I did check with Joomla.org and have discovered that I am not the only one who has experienced these difficulties. Unfortunately, although there is much discussion over the matter, there is little in solutions being offered. A lot of talk about changing FTP permissions which lead to security issues, etc.

      I'd really like to be able to install some of the great toys available. I guess I'll just have to keep searching for solutions.

    • I assumed, when you added the *with a Mac* suffix in your title, you would be referring to MAMP as it isn't relevant unless you are using MAMP :)

      Hunting at forum.joomla.org is the way to go.
