  • Basic question from newbie

    • Hi, this is my first time using Joomla, and RocketTheme templates. I've uploaded the template folder to my server and installed Joomla successfully. BUT I can only see the 'home' index page by going to www.mysite.com/Joomla_RT_HiveMind_j15/ and not by just visiting www.mysite.com

      Can anyone let me know what I've done wrong, or what steps I need to take to fix?

    • Move all files from the /Joomla_RT_HiveMind_j15/ folder up to the site root.

      Then update configuration.php with the new path in $live_site, $log_path and $tmp_path.

    • Hi - thanks for the answer. In the end, I messed up, so I uninstalled, and re-installed completely.

      Now I'm getting the following error message when I try to change the global configuration:
      an error has occurred - unable to open the configuration.php file to write.

      The installer initially flagged up that configuration.php was unwritable, but it said I would have to manually upload the code. When it came to it at the end, the code wasn't displayed anywhere. (I know this, because when I did the original installation in the wrong folder, it WAS displayed, and I could copy it OK).

      Do you know any way around my problem please?

    • You know what? I entered the ftp details in the global configuration and everything seems to be working smoothly now!
