RocketLauncher Installed- BUT Prob. w/ configuration.php in Global Configuration

Hi I've successfully installed rocketlauncher template Perithelion 1.5, and can change content etc. but cannot change anything in the global configuration of my Joomla administrator panel
During the install it said that the configuration.php code would be given later - so I copied the code it gave me during the later install, saved it to a text file, renamed it configuration.php and uploaded to my root.
So, now I'm trying go inot the Global Configuration in the Joomla administrator panel, but if I change any settings it tells me
" An Error has occurred! Unable to open configuration.php file to write!"
Sooooo, help!
(I notice in my FTP client the configuration.php is the only file there in the root that has no permissions listed....all the other files have... -rw-r--r-- or drwxr-xr-x next to them)
????????
Please help, and let me know what i'm doing wrong. I'm really excited to get my site up and running!

Create locally a new configuration.php, copy the content of the current in it. If you can, delete the configuration.php online and ftp the new one. You should be able to set the permissions to 755.
If you cannot delete the configuration.php, try with JoomlaXplorer . - Yves

Thanks for the quick answer!
I can FTP a new configuration.php file no problem.
However...how do I change permissions to 755?
What exactly do I change in the configuration.php file?
Is it all the "0"'s or the "1"'s or perhaps I add 755 to a specific line?

Thank you very much for your reply.
The article was great, however it still is not working properly.
I went in and changed the permissions on the configuration.php file to 755. I did as directed - copied the content to my local inserted the content...FTP'd it back into my published root with Filezilla, changed the permissions...and I'm still getting the same error.
Any other ideas?

I too am experiencing the same issue... However before I proceed with the instructions I see above; based on other posts, is there anything I have to do with the HTACCESS file? I saw a lot of other posts where people who have managed to access their GLOBAL CONFIG had to click YES to APACHE REWRITE and also perform some sort of task with the HTACCESS file --- due to ERRORS occurring when SEF was activated.
My greatest concern and fear is that I dont want to reinstall or rebuild the site I am currently working on... I spent a lot of time transferring it and setting it up, so losing my site and any functionality is a great concern.
Could you please provide instructions on any other items needed to make this SEF feature a success on Joomla 1.5.7? Thank you.

The only thing I did was in Filezilla go in and change the permissions file for the configuration.php.
That is it, I did not have to mess with the HTACCESS.txt file at all.
And as for the SEF settings. I changed those to yes, immediately after I loaded up the template....before touching anything else.
When I have changed the SEF settings after the site is up and running - that's when I have had problems.

Oh... Sounds like you had it easy and hard all at the same time. I had some other friends help me out with this. I couldnt even make changes at all to my GLOBAL CONFIG, I was getting the same ERROR message as you, nothing could be changed. I changed the permissions to my CONFIGURATION.PHP file from 644 to 646, and WALA!!! I was then able to make changes to the GLOBAL CONFIG from my control panel.
I also adjusted the HTACCESS files inorder to allow APACHE REWRITE MOD to work. Everything works perfect now, and my URL links are SUPER DUPER CLEAN!!! If you are still having problems, with my new found knowledge, I would be more than glad to help on this issue.
