Hi there,
I am trying to help a non-profit organisation setup a Joomla install on their existing server, basically because they have no budget for another host.
I am having nothing but problems with their server, and the host is unable to help. On install all the checks came up green, all directories i think have correct permissions, but it will not allow install of components or saving the config settings etc.
It is an Apache/2.0.49 (Linux/SuSE) server running PHP Version 4.3.4 which is old.
I have the latest rocket theme template on Joomla! 1.5.7
I have been searching for a script or tool that i could load on the server to say..." hey this is not set right" so i can tell the host provider to allow the server to work, they have been helpful and have changed "AllowOverrides All" but it is still not wanting to work
Anyone have a server test tool for Joomla compatibility?

- this is an ongoin issue, with joomla vs server. and i thinking what you can try to do is when you get to the screen where you have to install the sample data, go back on the server and look for the configuration.php, and edit it and put the info in as fars and login details for the database, then got back to the guie and install sample data and try again. you can chk joomla.org forums section for more info on this
