SOLVED params.ini writable or non?

- Hello All!
  
  In template manager should params.ini read: writable or nonwritable?
  
  My setting keeps changing to non in red? Please advise....

- The params.ini text should be green and say writable. Sometimes it will still say unwritable even if the file is writable...
  
  Login via FTP and CHMOD the file to 646 and all should be well.

- Thank you. I had already tried that... it changes to writable in green. However, after I make a change it reverts back to nonwritable in red again.
  
  Is this something I just need to not worry about?

- As long as the changes take effect on your site then just ignore this Joomla bug

- Ok i have checked now and you can ignore the error. The changes ARE taking effect so everything is working even if the text in the Joomla admin is red and says unwritable.

- I am having an issue along these lines as well, BUT even in FTP I cannot change the permissions from 755... to whatever it is I need. the params.ini file is set to 555 and will not allow me to do anything with it. I get "operation not permitted"
  
  and beyond the bug mentioned above.. mine is NOT taking the actual changes

- Have you inserted these details in the Global Configuration? (FTP).
