Image uploader is not working in any of my JOOMLA sites

I have used the image uploader repeatedly until about a week ago. I always had to select the image a 2nd time before it would get in the cue to upload, but now I am lucky if the browser opens to try to select it even once, but once does not get it to cue for upload.
I had not made any changes to my computer security, but have tried turning off the firewall and disabling other protection, but nothing works. I have been having to load all images by ftp and I am really getting tired of doing this as it is much too cumbersome.
If you can tell me how to fix this, I would really appreciate it.

Maybe, this is problem which i am facing too.
So I have started using image browser through which i easily upload images in the relevant folder. The extension really does good work in uploading images and the best part is it also makes thumbnails of the image uploaded.
You can give it a try also. - Quick tips::
1) Clear your browser cache if changes dont reflect
2) Provide link to your site to help us help you better
3) Use in firebug
