    • Has anybody here done a site using Amazon Web Services?

I am asking because I am about to start to work on a project that will demand some serious data transfer (working with high-def video - files are 500mb each).

Just wondering if the integration had issues or if the services are worth it. BTW, we are open to hosting solutions too. I think minimal requirements are 500gb storage and 2500-3000gb transfer (on dedicated or virtual dedicated).

      Appreciate any input.

    • Did you ever get this working on AWS?

There are lots of new things out at AWS now and I was wanting to try this myself, but cant seem to find anyworthwhile discussions about it.

I know you can add all files in an s3 bucket and know you can set up an SQL databse in AWS so in theory you must be able to marry the 2 together and host a joomla site

    • Hi,

      This was my old login.

I am currently running multiple sites Joomla sites on AWS. I did find some LAMP images that worked, but I still needed a bit of help from a programmer to set up Apache and deal with the specific nuances of running the image in the cloud.

I will try to get some sort of mini guide out of my friend. It should help a lot.

On a final note, I have to say that it is pretty amazing what you can put up on AWS and how fast and smooth things run. Never going back to regular hosting.
