Can't Install Plugins

  • Can't Install Plugins

    • Ever since I completed my Hyperion site and moved it out of a subdirectory into the main directory, I can't install plugins. It doesn't matter which plugin I try, it always comes back with the following error:

Error! Could not find an XML setup file in the package.
Path does not have a valid package.

      Any suggestions?

      Thank you!

    • Check if the zip file contains several zips inside. If it does then you will need to extract the main zip on your computer and then try to install the extensions the normal way. Also make sure that you're not trying to install a RocketLauncher or the template sources, they're not installable with Joomla's own plugin installation feaure.

    • Also did you change the $live_site variable in the configuration.php file?

    • The last plugin I tried to install was RokSlideShow. There are no additional zip files within the package. I've tried all three installation routes via the extension manager. The strange thing is that if I look within the "tmp" folder, the plugin manages to get FTPed into that folder but I still get the error and nothing happens beyond that point.

Regarding the configuration.php file, I'm not sure what you are talking about since I'm not too familiar with editing php files.

      Thanks for the input!
