I'm working on the phpbb3 setup and taking a closer look at linking etc. because of it. I'm so glad I started early... but realized after install that there is a beginning template style, so I didn't really have to worry about that. Duh, I should have known that, of course there would be a style.
Setup went great... except I wasn't sure how to link the forum to the rest of the site?
I entered absolute: www.stocktonarts.com/forum/
Is that what I was suppose to do?
With open jazz hands I anxiously await the publication of the mixxmag phpBB3 template!

If you're talking about a menu link from the Joomla site going to the forum, just "forum" should work.
When setting up the menu item as an External Link, the pre "/" isn't necessary so just "forum" works fine.
When you transfer your menu over to the phpBB3 site with a Rockettheme template (I'm anxious for the Mixxmag one too!), it should still work just fine, but if not, then you can just put the absolute link in there.
