Slideshow OK in IE7, not in IE8

- I've been testing a new site on IE7 and found the typical PNG issues. I decided to download IE8 to see if the PNGs would behave. Not only are they still not working properly, but now the slideshow isn't transitioning at all. I can use the play/pause functions, but the automatic transition isn't functioning. Does anyone know what changed in IE8 that is causing this to happen? Or, better yet, how to fix it?

- Well, after doing nothing but staring blankly at the screen, it worked when I refreshed. Then I went off the page and back on, and it stopped. Refreshed. Working again. Anybody have any ideas?
