    • Hello Community.

I have this health related website, and have a variety of tools including the "woman´s calendar" component, that calculates data based on the menstrual cycle of the woman.

So our 1000 users/day traffic is just growing to some 15k daily, but it crashes every time it reaches 450 (aprox) users at the same time.

I believed it was the woman´s calendar, but i restricted that component to avoid it to be used without registration (that triggered masive registration of 150 users per day) and now only registered users can access that tool.

So i believe it can be a processor problem on the server, or some kind of php setting. This site is on a Dreamhost Private Server and it doesn´t matter if i raise the ram to 4gb (for 400 usd a month), it just crashes and shows the personalized "internal server error page".

Please if someone have any experience with joomla overloading a server or if there is a host provider with SERIOUS capacity, advise here because we are loosing money and chance.

    • What's the memory limit in the php.ini file?

Have you contacted your host about this?
    • Thanks,

    • Answer from the host support was "i see your site online". It was like 1 day after the outage. Dreamhost support may easily be located on a zoo. I really don´t know how to see the ini file, is there any way to do it with joomla?

    • I found this on the joomla configuration report:

      max_execution_time 30 30
      max_input_nesting_level 64 64
      max_input_time 60 60
      memory_limit 90M 90M

The host says it can have from 50 to 400 mb ram on demand. I raise it to 400 and it doesn´t mathers, it crashes. And there goes my money.

    • Your best bet might be to move from Dreamhost. I had a server go down for 3 days and each day they told me things were looking fine. On the 3rd day, they said oops, sorry, you were right, apache was never re-installed. I had to move 20 sites from there and it was worth it.

Find a host with better support.

Where are you getting the report from?

You should have access to the php.ini file through your host's CP.

Also check to see if you are running php5.

    • I can´t, JEM. I can´t find where is located that information on the panel of dreamhost. Ben, what host do you recomend me?. I´m just on the edge here and my problem extends to more than 100 sites, 65 joomla.

    • I use ThePlanet ( www.theplanet.com/ ) and have for many years. I have multiple dedicated servers with them and love the prices and the service.
