    • HI anyone point me to the right article please:
      my old site was up for 2 years and had a few hundred users, I wanted to clean up so I took down the old site completely (leaving the original data base on the server) I have reinstalled the joomla 1.5 and affinity, and need to integrate the old users to the new joomla.

    • If you're talking about moving from Joomla 1.0 to Joomla 1.5, here's the link:

      If you still have the database up for the old site and it's Joomla 1.0, you might need to upload all the files except the installation directory and then make sure the configuration file has the proper location designated for your site and the database name, username, and password. Then you can use the migrator.

      After you migrate to Joomla 1.5, you'll need to take the "jos_users" table and move it over...MAKE A BACKUP OF YOUR NEW INSTALL FIRST!!! It would help to make a backup of just the "jos_users" table for the new site too, so if this doesn't work, you can just drop and reload the one that does.
