Assign class to a placeholder - SOLVED

  • Assign class to a placeholder - SOLVED

    • Hi there

Please can anyone help me, I changed my template to the new 1.5 version and since have noticed that the menu type "Seperator / Placeholder" no longer exists and has now been replaced by Seperator. However, it does not want to seem to work the same. It does not have a class assigned to it so the text sits higher than the other menu links and does not look the same.

Previously (in version 1.0) it looked and worked the same but meant that I could just have drop down menu's from this menu box and not have to have it linked to an article. Please can you help me rectify this as I have tried and tried and cannot find any help on this matter.

Thank you very much in advance!Claire

    • hi claire,

instead of the separator (which is sometimes responsible for breaking a site in ie7) you can use the following alternative.
      Joomla 1.5
      1. Login into your Administrator
      2. Go to Menus > Main Menu > New
      3. Choose "External Link" as your Menu item
      4. In the link field, insert
      javascript:void(0)
      5. Fill in your other details and save.

you can also try the "alias" menu type, it is useful for example to use for a parent item to point directly to the first submenu item.
