Hi there, since some months I've the Solar Sentinel theme (Rockettheme) template up and running. I was very pleased to hear about the K2 integration possibilities... I updated most 'Rok'extensions and installed the K2 extension as well... I'm trying to get the 1st of 4 Rocketthememods running on K2, just started with the RokStories Module...
Here the 2 problems I have now:
1. When using K2 (instead of the regular Joomla article management system) and clicking for the full article by 'the read more button' in the RokStories module on the frontpage the whole page lost its SolarSentinel template css which I just wanna keep actually...
2. When activating the k2-module 'Content', the frontpage of the website 'losts' in an '500 error' (500 - ERROR INVALID ATTACHMENT ID (117)) The frontpage of the website won't appear anymore...
I'm sure I'm forgetting / missing something here, I must do something wrong, but what??
I hope somebody can / will help me out with this, thanx a lot sofar!
No it definitely is NOT: it ruines the formatting of your reular newspages... What I mentioned in my 1st post is still happening so unfortunately I had to deactivate the K2 modules...
I cannot imagine a real online newspaper platform without a complete K2 or similar Component integration. And I cannot see no one more indicated for that job that the rockettheme guys.
And to see that the new RT Template has K2 and Joomsocial integrated makes me dream of the day were we can have a completely online newspaper-ready Template.
RT as the most beautifull newspaper templates for joomla on the web:
Sporticus; Media Mogul; Terran Tribune; Solar sentinel... But they need more component integration... They need to be designed for online neswpaper on the Admin side also...
Pleeeaaase!!! We need a real online newspaper template.
Don't you agree evdp?
Best regards
Francis
ps: Althogh the frontpage display of headlines with bbcode at "Solar Sentinel" is very beautifull I find it not plausible for newspaper sites with lots of info. Maybe a module could be created to display that same effect...
Please also understand us that we have to work on new templates every month and doing support for many members here. Adapting K2 to all templates is not a simple task.
However, as we have done for Affinity and Moxy, you can have a look at :
<joomla-root>/templates/rt_moxy_j15/html/com_k2
<joomla-root>/templates/rt_moxy_j15/html/mod_k2_comments
<joomla-root>/templates/rt_moxy_j15/html/mod_k2_content
<joomla-root>/templates/rt_moxy_j15/html/mod_k2_login
<joomla-root>/templates/rt_moxy_j15/html/mod_k2_tools
you may start by copying them to the templates you want to adapt K2.
<joomla-root>/templates/<your-template-name>/html/
You will also need to copy the css:
<joomla-root>/templates/rt_moxy_j15/css/k2.css
Of course, you will need to adjust the codes to match with your templates.
It is a shame, I also have this template and just integrated the K2 Component for our magazine and is definitely a beauty but I really want to keep my template it is absolutely beautiful. I guess I'll try your suggestions and see what happens.
