How does Rockettheme.com have such a long session lifetime?

- It seems that your phpbb and joomla for that matter have a very long session lifetime. I have my joomla setup at 8 hours in the global config and phpbb similar. My users are tired of loging in all the time. Am I missing something?

I'd like to know this as I use the default settings for both J! an phpbb3. I read somewhere that making it above a certain time can be a security problem with the sessions left open even though the users have closed the browser but not logged on.
I know it effects your user online module because I increased mine once for a day and had 135 guests online which made the site look popular but of course it was false because of the long sessions.
