Custom input text field on the Main page

Hi,
I am using the infuse template, and have a custom component installed. The custom component has an input text box that I would like to display on the main page of the infuse template.
I was wondering if anyone could provide any suggestions on how I can display an text input field on the main page of this or any joomla template?

Thanks for your reply. attached is an screen shot of the site, where I have editied in paint and insereted and input box.
How can I modify this section (white) of the site and put the input text box here?

the website is not on the internet at the moment, I will see If I can get a port open on the firewall.
We are using this function in the menu "index.php?option=com_test&task=search" as an external link URL to take us to the page where the input box is. So I guess if we could some how get this function to work on the main page?

I havent been able to get the site on the net yet, The site is a default joomla setup, the pic I sent you is an edit in MS paint to display how I would like it to look, so there is not much to see on teh site away.
do you think this is possible?

Hello,
Instead of using the included 'search' menu item, you can publish Rokajaxsearch module right on your main page and it will search without taking you anywhere. The Rokajaxsearch is found in the Infuse template download area labeled Infuse Extensions.
See it in action on the Infuse demo in the top right. Just enter 'joomla' into the box:
