Cannot Install Simplix Extensions

I am having problems installing the extensions that came with the Simplix (2007) template. Although the extensions package is unzipped automatically on my mac, the joomla! installer (Upload Package File Section) sees the file as an unreadable archive.
Any advice on this?

Hello,
Are you trying to install one extension zip at a time? You stated you already unzipped the 'Simplix Extensions' file on your desktop.
