  • Parts of Admin Panel no longer visible

    • Hi,

      I've got Joomla! 1.5.15 installed on a site, and today noticed icons that allow front-end editing of articles. (These have never shown up before). In an attempt to turn off this feature, I disabled some modules & plugins which seemed related, & now I can no longer access the horizontal menu in the admin panel - only the quick links are visible so I am unable to work on the site.
      Can anyone help?

    • While waiting for a response here you may wan to search or post n joomla.org.

      There may be a way to turn those feature back on by editing the database, or you could revert to your latest back up.

      If you don't have a back up, you could check with your host, most back up your site / DB every 24hrs and keep them for 3 days or so.

      For future reference, this extension is a life saver:

      extensions.joomla.org/extensions/access-a-security/backup/1606

      I use it before making any major changes, and even minor ones; it's saved me at least 100 times.

    • I've reverted to all the backups I'd saved, ones that proceeded this issue, with no luck. Can anyone help with this issue? I've had no responses to help resolve the issue at hand, and I'd prefer not to have to rebuild the site from scratch.

      you can try to access these links directly:

      yoursite.com/administrator/index.php?option=com_modules
      and
      yoursite.com/administrator/index.php?option=com_plugins

      to reenable everything.

      I used a slightly different extension to access the administrator modules I needed: (administrator/index.php?option=com_modules&client=1) and republished the menus.
