can't install plugins - corrupt ftp infos?

Hello,
When I installed the Rockettheme package, I disabled the ftp feature. After the correct installation, the most things works fine, now I wanted to install a plugin. I manually modified the configuration.php. But when I started to upload the Plugin in the adminpanel, I got a failure warning:
Warning: ftp_set_option() expects parameter 1 to be resource, null given in /www/htdocs/w00b46e3/hw/libraries/joomla/client/ftp.php on line 276
Can I install the Plugin right from the server? I could upload the file into a folder an start the installation form right there. And can I fix that ftp problem?

- Hallo Kat, that is a good question. I couldn't realize the ftp thing in the modul panel, so it tried it manually. But in the meanwhile i have changed the complet template and I am really happy with my new one, the Qunative Template. Nice work and thanks for your help. Bye
