I'm getting RokStories to only partially work. The area inside the artsy photo frame is black and there is no article type next to it. I'm using the settings from the screen shots above. This is Grunge Template with RokStories 1.8, Gantry 3.0.6 and RokModule 1.2 installed. I have it set to show the sample articles. I verified those are able to be displayed by putting them on the Front Page. I feel like I've tried everything but don't know what else to try. I have another site where the RokStories is working fine. All settings between that site and the troubled site are the same. (They're on different servers. I am a club member by the way.)
Inspecting with FireBug shows the following code for the parent of the hiding article:Turning off the opacity zero and visibility hidden gets the story to show up but in the wrong position. Is this a clue to what's going wrong?<div class="description" style="opacity: 0; visibility: hidden;"> <span class="feature-title">Important Featured Story</span> etc.

Thanks Sean, let me know what you find. I can PM to you my backend user/pw if that would help.
FYI - php is 5.2.9, Help > System Info shows ALL listed directories Writable.
EDIT: I changed to Panacea template and despite the name, still no RokStories. I went through every line of Kat05's RokStories Tutorial and tried toggling every option to no avail. The background images are changing under Panacea but I think that's Gantry Rotator, not RokStories. I think I'm set to give up at this point and blame the host: some sort of file/directory ownership issue.
While in backend Template Manager > Panacea, I often got an Unresponsive Script Warning regarding mootools.js:54. I would hit Continue and it would go away. (Firefox) This was only on the backend (whether I had the front end open in another window or not). I re-uploaded mootools.js thinking maybe the server copy was corrupted somehow, but it made no difference and in any case, didn't solve my RokStories problem.

hi there,
if you like send me your link and super admin details via pm to take a look at your rokstories.
the script error you are getting is a known issue at this point, just caused by the big amount of javascript loaded in the template parameters (gantry is a powerful framework). but the settings and everything are still working as they should.
if you use firefox and have the web develeper add-on you can hide those script messages.

anyways, the developers are working on this but the solution is radical and will take some time to get done. but the performance improvements are really worth the wait.

Sort of fixed by accident while trying to get Panacea template (gantry) column widths to "stick".
Deleting the file rt_panacea_j15/custom/menuitemparams/1.menuparams.ini got the RokStories Articles* to start working (and also fixed my column width problems).
Putting it back makes the RokStories Articles* disappear again. Weird eh?
The styling looks broken so I'm not completely out of the woods...
*Actually it's not RokStories that's working at all, it's ROTATOR loading the articles. I unpublished RokStories and they were still there. Turn off Rotator and they go away. I was thinking I could use Rotator for the background and RokStories for the content but maybe they're incompatible. RokStories is included in the Panacea Extentions so I wouldn't think so.

No, I think I'm good for now. I switched back to the Grunge template later on and lo and behold the RokStories was working. I'm sure it was something simple that I rectified along the way but I couldn't tell you specifically what I did to fix it.
Thanks for your help. I'm sure it's frustrating for you to try to help someone but when you go to their site it's all changed and not exhibiting the problem.
