How to reduce image weight using rokgallery?

Hi!
I'm using Joomla 2.5.19 + rokgallery 2.29
I have noticed that the component makes the images weight much larger (~30% more weight for the same image quality and size) then the weight I uploaded.
Is it possible to reduce the image weight using rokgallery?

I'm assuming here your term weight refers to file size?
Actually RokGallery is just a GUI, all scaling and slice creation requirements are done by the GD Library on your server, NOT by RokGallery.
You can set the Compression for RokGallery:
Admin -> Components -> RokGallery -> Settings -> Image Settings -> JPEG Image Quality -> value = 0 to 100

Can you please tell me why the image output is JPG when I upload png?
I'm asking this because the png file size i upload is 70% less then the jpg output in the slider..
I would be happy if the output is the same png file I upload and not the jpg.
