    SOLVED Afterburner (club member)

Posted 10 years 5 months ago
    • Hi there

We are a long time Joomla club member but in this case I am using afterburner for its simplicity. But I have run into an issue ):

The template seems to be the only one in all of Rocket Themes where the core editor (Tiny) does not WYSWYG. When you flush left a picture... the text still shows under it not beside it.

I want to use this template because it's for a client that can only digest so much.. but using the simple core editor is necessary for the same reason.. he is new and using RokPad won't work for someone that new.

Is there a fix for this? Such a simple thing and yet such a huge barracade..

      Any help is appreciated.

    • Hi there,

Do you get same problems with JCE? Tinymce is such a pain and so unpredictable.

    • You are right David.. but it's the only stock editor I can see other then CodeMirror (also not workable for a total newbie) and None. In the plugin list JCE is not listed. I used the third party at one time but found it became hackable so I removed it from my bag of tricks. Has this changed? How can I easily add it?

    • Hi there,

Add it same as any extension and then select from global configuration.

All extensions (even Joomla itself) become hackable, hence the need for updates. JCE updates in same way as Joomla. Take a backup and click the update button. That simple.

      Hope this helps 8)

    • Hi David

Turns out this makes no difference. Still shows things very what you see is not what you get.

Anything in the css or template that can be overridden?

It's my guess that as a free template it wants to be as easy to use as possible... (in order to help clients choose to become members based on the convenience and ease of use).

    • Hold the presses. AFter opening, saving then closing.. upon re-opening it now displays fine.

All good, I will go with JCE on this site.

      Thanks bunches :)

    • Hi there,

I use JCE and RokPad exclusively and have no problems with either so long as they are latest versions. The other thing to remember is that it isn't true WYSIWYG, especially in admin, as it relies on the CSS being loaded and utilised and edit window being same as screen size. But it is close enough to get layouts displayed in a reasonable manner.

Glad its solved for your client now.
