Customizing Template source files?

Hi,
I want to customize Template source files. I followed the documentation on this link: docs.gantry.org/gantry5/advanced/customizing-theme-files
However, I did update the file /media/gantry5/engines/nucleus/templates/layout/section.html.twig but the updates weren't reflected on the front-end. I cleared/deleted the code of the same file and make it empty, the page hasn't affected either.
I was wondering if the Template uses another custom file which has the same code or achieve the same purpose?

What CMS are we talking about and what template. You don't seem to have a Joomla subscription yet you are referring to Requiem template in Joomla? From where did you obtain the Requiem template?
What specifically are you trying to customise?

Hi,
I am talking about Joomla CMS - Template: Requiem.
The Template belongs to my colleague who I am customizing it for him. He must have Joomla subscription. I am trying to add video background in the header section.

Then it's your colleague that needs to be asking the question on his subscription then please. We're very happy to assist you we just need the question to be asked on the correct subscription and in the "Joomla - Requiem" forum please. Also. Please would you post your URL, superuser id and pswd in the secure tab of your post and i'll have a look for you. Also, Please post your FTP logon, password and FTP URL in the secure area of your post.
From what you said you appear to be updating Gantry 5 original files and that is not correct. You should be creating overrrides as the instructions state.
