SOLVED Afterburner .htaccess

    • Hi

One of my old clients asked me to move his old joomla from one server to another.
I moved it to his new hosting and the website works. The only issue is that the website only works if I type the url/index.php. If I type the domain name only, i get a message from the hosting "this website is hosted by ..."
How to make the website load when typing the domain name only, without the index.php.
It was an old joomla 1.5.15 that I upgraded today after the move to 1.5.26.
There is no plan to upgrade to a new version for now, just to make this website load correctly.

      Thank you!

    • It sounds like you have an index.html in the joomla root folder (which will be used in preference to the index.php) try removing this.

We don't support Joomla 1.5 anymore and Joomla don't support Joomla 2.5 anymore either. I appreciate that perhaps your client doesn't want to pay to have the site ungraded... I just hope they understand the risk they are running by not doing so.

      Regards, Mark.

    • Thanks! That helped, indeed it was an index.html. Maybe the hosting created one when the account was created. Just saying. Thank you for the quick and helpful reply.
