    • This is normal Joomla behavior for "orphaned" or "menuless" articles. To get around this use the hidden-menu technique.

      Create a MENU called "hidden" (no need to create a module to place it anywhere). In the hidden menu, create a MENU ITEM for each of the orphaned articles (single article type) and make sure these menu items are published. Ensure that the sprocket module is not assigned to these menus and the articles should now open in their own page.

    • I created a sub-category called 'Gallery', moved all the articles into that sub-category, created a hidden menu article blog link to that a category. That fixed the issue. It's a shame there isn't a setting that could be set in the module to ignore linked articles. :(
