  • 404 error with quasar

    • Hi:

      I started a site with quasar. Got as far as creating a simple home page with only member login. All was working fine. I then deleted the sample menus and created a new main menu with just two items, home and member home page. The only other thing that I did was add a registered user so I could test the login. After I added the registered user and new menu, I did a preview and got the '404 - component not fund' error page. I tried retrcing my steps but I cannot find what the problem might be. I'd gladly give my admin username and password. Thanks for any problem-solving ideas. the url is www.jimfidler.com/jahfete

    • Hello Lillian,

      It looks like you will need to set the Login Redirect page from "Select Item" to say your home page. This will then cause it to redirect properly.

      hmm when you turn off mod rewrite for apache. does this function?

      It seems the login module is now functioning correctly. I have tested this by publishing the module on your left position and tried a failed login and a correct one. both took me to the home page properly.

    • Thanks again, this is bizarre. I'm getting a 404 error any time I try to preview the site or just go to www.jimfidler.com/jahfete . I can't even get to the home page at all. weird.

    • hi lillian,

      not sure if this might be the problem?

      make sure that you have a menu item inside your mainmenu that is marked as the default menu item.

      > menus > mainmenu > select the menu item that you want to use as the start page (use the radio button to the left of the menu item) and then click the yellow star icon in the top right of the screen to make that particular menu item your default homepage.
