SOLVED CSS animation; apply uikit class to roksprocket mosaic in gantry 5 Hydrogen

I want to apply a UIKIT class to each Roksprocket MOSAIC image within the Gantry 5 Hydrogen theme.
I want to use one of the Overlay transitions (or any other class for that matter) from the UIKIT class ( getuikit.com/docs/overlay.html#overlay-transitions ).
Where do I insert the markup code?
This is the MARKUP:

Customizing RokSprocket at that level would be beyond the scope of support here.
the item.php file for the specific layout is what outputs each RokSprocket item on the frontend

so copy:
\components\com_roksprocket\layouts\mosaic\themes\default\item.php
to:
templates\g5_hydrogen\roksprocket\layouts\mosaic\themes\default\
