Google Fonts updating for J1.6?

  • Google Fonts updating for J1.6?

    • Hi,

I found the instructions for adding in new Google Fonts for J1.5 Gantry, but J1.6 Gantry is not the same. How can I add newer Google Fonts in J1.6 Gantry 3.2.4?

      Thanks,
      Tiff

    • Hey party-people.

No one knows how to fix this? A client is asking for the Lora font (apparently she's fallen in love with ONLY that font), and no one knows how to get it in the fonts list, and/or have it render on the site using gantry?

      I.M. "Who are you?"
      M.I.B. "No one of consequence..."
      I.M. "I must know!"
      M.I.B. "Get used to disappointment..."

    • I don't have 100% solution for J!1.6 because I'm having trouble with one of the 2 overrides.

But for now this should work (example for "Lora"):
      1. copy this file
      libraries/gantry/features/webfonts.php
into the features folder of your template and add your font to this array
var $_google_fonts = array("Lora","Allan", "Allerta", "Allerta Stencil", "Amaranth", "Annie" ....

      2. now thing I'm having trouble with because my override kills the admin.
So you have to edit (hack) Gantry directly.
      Open this file:
      libraries/gantry/admin/forms/fields/fonts.php
You find the same array as above. Add your "Lora"-font.
When you save that you should get the "Lora" option in the gantry backend

I hope this helps. I already asked the devs why the second overrides fails.
I will report back if I have news about that override ...
