The Gantry cache has a bad habit of spreading randomly named php files all over the file system instead of letting us set a specific folder where all the cached files should live. This is not a good practice as we are forced to open up for php access in a css folder - something that you would normally block to increase security on your site (in the Master htaccess, or Admin Tools by Akeeba, this is standard).
Could we kindly request that a setting gets added where we can add the path to a folder outside of public_html for the generated files? This means you could have a folder named cache in the root of your domain and under there a folder named gantry. And none of those files would be available by any direct means as they are outside of the public_html folder.
Also, there should be a "clean-up" button that would delete all generated files in the system so we do not have to do that by hand. I have not found this yet and if anyone know about something like this, please let me know!
