accordian menu looses hovereffect in gantry template in ie

Hi
I use an accordian menu with my gantry template, which works fine in safari and firefox.
But in ie9 where the level-1-menuitems, have a level-2-menuitem beneath it, the hovereffect won't kick in.
If the level-one-menuitem is activated, the hovereffect works again.

I've talked to the developers of the menu, and it seems to be a template problem, but only for ie.
I'm very happy with the gantry-template, so i hope somebody can help me figure this out?

I guess all the views and still no answer, means that i'm in trouble. Is there anyone, who can help me figure out how to resolve this?
