Updated site (1and1 hosting) from 5.2.17 > 5.4.5. Now site has crashed with this error.
Fatal error: Out of memory (allocated 7340032) (tried to allocate 20 bytes) in /homepages/25/d246185649/htdocs/worxx_joomla/libraries/gantry/core/gantrytemplate.class.php on line 470
I can remove the .htaccess that I put the code in to get it upgraded and the site goes back to working.
Any ideas, or just stay at 5.2.17?

Maybe you guys know more than I do about this. Seems Joomla 2.5.6 doesn't like PHP 5.4.x? Could that be my problem? - Putting the Puzzle Together!

Have you checked the permissions? Site >> System Information >> Directory Permissions
All should be green. Files should be 644 Folders 755. Check ownership as well.
Check your Minimum System Requirements here:

Speak with your host provider to check additional settings, permissions, and requirements.
Here are the specific RokGallery requirements:
• PHP support for the SQLite PDO driver
• PHP support for the MySQL PDO driver
• MySQL with InnoDB support
• PHP support for PDO
• PHP support for GD2
• PHP 5.2.8 and above
To check your server upload the attached "rokgalleryrequirements.php" to your server root and run it.
It will report whether your server meets RokGallery specs.

Am I missing the attachment?
All permissions are green except for configuration.php which is unwritable.
PHP version is 5.2.17 and I'm trying to upgrade to version 5.4.5. 1and1 (hosting) only offers those two choices. When I upgrade phpinfo shows the new version but the site crashes.
RokGallery? I don't remember mentioning RokGallery.

I included this test because it is a good test for requirements. Being able to run the most recent version of RokSprocket, Gantry and or RokGallery and meeting these requirements is a common reason for a crash if the requirements are not met.
If you enter gantry requirements in the search you will find several threads and help topics on the subject.
