Gantry appears twice as Default ("Master") site template

  • Gantry appears twice as Default ("Master") site template

    • In the template manager, Gantry appears twice - with the same item ID.

I cannot delete either one, yet when I do a search in Extensions Manager, I don't see duplicates; I see: plugin, template, library, component. Is this correct? And if so, which one is the 'correct' version?

Additionally - I suppose due to the duplicate - I cannot save or delete in the template configuration.

Any adjustment *is* saved, yet I cannot close & return to the Template Manager. A saved change in one template shows in both template items.

Is this a bug? a failed/incomplete installation or some other setting?

      Thanks.

      Gantry 4.0.5

    • I've seen a bug like this appear a few times with new templates. But I haven't seen any other reports of duplicate entries for Gantry. There may have been a small "hiccup" durring installation but it's easy to fix. You can delete the extra entry in your database, do you know how to access your database? If not, you'll have to uninstall the template through the extension manager and reinstall it again. So go to the Extension Manager > Manage > Search for the gantry template > Check the box next to it and hit uninstall.

    • Thanks, Ben.

I uninstalled and re-installed v4.0.5 of the template - and the same thing happened: double entry for the template. Very, very strange.

What might cause this and what else might I do?

    • Nice detective skills :) I'd forgotten about the patch.

I haven't noticed the issue in the more recent versions of Joomla!, but I didn't ask which version you were using

    • I spoke too soon and the bug/error remains - I still have the double-entry problem; I left a comment on the post comments but haven't yet found a solution:
      www.rockettheme.com/blog/joomla/1394-dup...te-fix-for-joomla-25

Additionally, when I open and edit/modify the template parameters, I cannot close the template. Do you have any ideas?

    • Well... I discovered the problem was IE. I switched to Chrome and the problem disappeared. 8)

Still have the double-entry problem, though.

    • Hi John,

So you see a double entry in IE but not Chrome?

Can you PM me a super admin login and URL for your site?

    • The double entry exists in both browsers; the minor save/save-and-close issue was resolved by switching to Chrome, though.

I'm on a closed intranet so I cannot grant you permissions, and I've requisitioned the Joomla upgrade patch so I can eliminate any possible incompatibility conflicts with Gantry (template or framework). I'll let you know. Doesn't help matters to have to deal with corporate procedures.

      Thanks.
