Hi Cliff, SOLVED!!!
I made the last desperate try to have the background image altering the way I put the module class suffix in Joomla "advanced options" of the module: I simply inserted a blank space before miostile and that did the trick!!!
ONE MILLION THANKS for your useful suggestions and for your big patience with a newbie and her troubles in coding!!!

Generally, it's easier for us to give you code advice if your site is online. I'm just looking at what you have and guessing what the problem might be. If it's online we can mess with it in a web inspector and give you the right answer faster. Just something to keep in mind for next time. - The difficult we do immediately, the impossible takes a little longer.
