    • Looked at the demo sites in IE8, IE9, chrome, FF, safari and Opera.

In iE8, all the recent demo sites are narrower in IE8 (all sites previewed on pc, same monitor).

      See attached.

    • the width is based on the 960 grid system and is a close to identical as two different browsers can be, Perhaps you have the ie8 browser zoomed. Try pressing ctrl-0 (that is control and zero at the same time) to set the zoom to 100%

    • Hey there cdavis,

No, the browser's not zoomed. And, it's off by a LOT. I'd guess, just looking at it, that it's about 75px on each side... 150px off is quite a bit. Certainly enough to affect the way layered text appears on top of images when rendered by RokSprocket.

Really - have a look. Not even close and I feel this is a bug in Gantry.

    • I have looked several times. Sorry I am not seeing what you are referring to. (see screenshot) I will ask some others to take a look. Perhaps another will see what you are seeing.

    • Hi there,

I have just checked and see the same as Chris's screenshot.

Are you running any addons in your browser?

    • Thanks for the investigation here fellas. Let be be of some more help...
      Chrome v22.
      IE8 v8.06
      FF v16.01

See images below for differences. It's pretty easy to tell by the title text in Roksprocket's articles that IE8 is significantly more narrow.

    • Hi there,

OK - I see the difference in those screenshots of Fracture. But it is misleading when your first post shows a screenshot of Ximenia when you actually mean the last 3 responsive templates

IE8 cannot handle some of the CSS generated by Less and used in our responsive templates. For this reason we default IE8 to use the fixed 960px styling.

      Hope this helps 8)

    • Thanks, David. Sorry for misleading you with Ximenia - wasn't my intent.

Is there any way I can force only IE8 to a larger width without affecting the responsiveness of the template on other devices?

    • Hi there,

The only thing I can suggest is to take a copy of the grid layout figures from 1200fixed.less and replace the grid layout figures in master-ie8.css

If this resolves your problem then please edit your first post in this thread by adding SOLVED at the start of the title and then select the green tick icon. This lets the moderators know that it can be moved to the solved section.

      Thanks for your cooperation :)
