I have recently discovered that since the update to Joomla 2.5.8 the overrides are not applying properly (using Ximenia template - I can't provide an example link as the site is prepped locally).
Previously you create a lyaout as an override, assign it to a menu item and done.
Now the child menu item inherits the parent item's overrides. In other words Parent menu has Override #1 and Child menu item will have Override #2. If I want to remove Social Buttons in Child menu item, but they are defined in Override #1, I am unable to do so. If Module positions are defined specifically for Parent menu item, they will not work if they are different from the Default/Master template.
Is this my issue only? In which case I would appreciate your assistance in telling me what am I doing wrong. Alternatively, if it's not only me - than the concept of Overrides loses it's point.
